As you prepare to study abroad, please review the available scholarships below. Study abroad scholarships come in many shapes and sizes. Among the list below, you will find merit and need-based scholarships, but also scholarships that prioritize certain student identities. In the first table below, you can learn about the study abroad scholarships available through various Iowa State University colleges and offices. The second table lists nationally competitive awards, or scholarships that are open to a wider applicant pool. Iowa State has had many students be selected for nationally competitive awards, so you are encouraged to apply. Click on the + sign below to view the scholarships available in each category. In addition, if you are applying to study abroad on a program offered by an affiliate such as AIFS, Arcadia Abroad, CEA CAPA, CIEE, DIS, ISA, School for Field Studies, or Semester at Sea, please note they also have their own scholarship programs.

Ivy College of Business Study Abroad Scholarship | Applicants must be a major in the Ivy College of Business with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. The applicant must be accepted into a residential international study abroad program, and enrolled in courses at a host institution. Study Abroad Center Scholarship | Applicants are able to apply and be considered for a number of different study abroad scholarships. In general, student should have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals (Germany) | Applicants must be a US citizen and high school graduate who is between the ages of 18 and 24. A strong interest in Germany and world affairs is essential, but prior knowledge of German language is not. | This is both a program and a scholarship. If you get the scholarship, you are in the program. The program is duration is 10-11 months and includes German language training, a semester at a German university, and an internship. Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) | Applicants must be a US citizen or national attending a US university or college. Delta Phi Alpha Scholarship (Germany) | Applicants must be a member of their university’s Delta Phi Alpha chapter and currently enrolled in an undergraduate institution or a recent graduate of no more than 6 months. Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants | Applicants must be an undergraduate student attending an institution with an active Phi Kappa Phi chapter and have a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher.
